In my youth although I did watch too much tv, we had Schoolhouse Rock, especially the Bob Dorough meloldies. People my age still be quoting “conjunction,junction” and “i’m just a bill” for instance. The other day I was channel surfing, 40 years later, and just to stay current I taped a Nicki Minaj special, a compilation of her videos. I notice that this one, “Beez in the Trap” in the end of the song, she shouts out the names, perhaps even by heart, 21 geographic references: Chicago, Hoboken, St. Louis, et cetera. Maybe there is a 10-year-old reciting somewhere this list for her geography class.
(Maybe I’ll update with the complete list; and I sort of missed the part but can edit to add which states Miss Minaj says has the most bees. The version on the internet has more info than the one I taped off tv. (Mommy, what does “explicit” mean?)

The only previous mention of Lani Wui in these pages was 2014 I ran into her at Stanford Theatre and add lived something about wanting to do in Elijah Cook Junior event at Stanford Theatre in that Elijah was born in San Francisco I think highlighted and David Thompson book but grew up in Chicago and went to the precursor of the Art Institute and he was best known as the villain Wilmer in the Maltese falcon.
