‘Oh, Henry!’ leads Vikings to 13th straight win

BOLTE IS TOP RATED PLAYER, FUTURE PRO OR LONGHORN

Had three hits to pace 17-2 rout of Burlingame

“oh Henry” is such an old school reference to a candy bar to a TV commercial to hank Aaron of the Braves the Internet doesn’t even have it but I am certain I am correct.
Also there is an author named O.Henry Who has a historic landmark in Austin Texas near where Henry Bolte might play baseball next year should he not go pro:

Last: I was happy for my young friend Ari Smolar Eisenberg (“the ASE” — baseball jargon for a sophomore and younger child of Palo Alto city council candidate Rebecca Eisenberg for a pitching a perfect inning in relief including two strikeouts; his dad said that even as a former high school player himself he cannot play catch with his son because the ball has such natural movement.

Paly is outscoring its opponents 144 to 27 aggregate, Is the top team in the metro region in San Francisco according to the Chronicle they play Saint Francis on a Saturday afternoon 4/23 as a preview to the CCS championship

Friday May 6 4:30 pm Jeremiah Lockwood at Lytton Plaza free show%

May 21, 22 Gaye Adegbalola % and $

June 3 DaShawn Hickman group featuring Charlie Hunter (Santa Cruz Kuumbwa – -Earthwise debut there)$

June 5 DaShawn Hickman group featuring Charlie Hunter (either Mitchell Park El Palo Alto room or maybe Rinconada Bowl stay tuned) $ or %

June 9 Sony Holland Duo performs Linda Ronstadt (note: Linda Ronstadt does not appear, its just her music) %

June 14 Will Bernard Quintet %

June 20 Mary Gauthier %

June 25 Marta Sanchez Quintet — free at Lytton Plaza 7:30 pm

July 10 The Waybacks %

There’s a couple soon to confirmed dates in September but I won’t announce just yet. Generally I work 30 days to 90 days out. The recent Dan Bern was less than that, but that is Dan Bern one of my faves (and I deliberately picked the only rainy day last month to do the show because as you can tell by my name I am an environmentalist and we need the rain).

Notice that compared to The Guild in Menlo Park and Mountain Winery in Saratoga I keep my ticket prices low: either free outdoors or $20 to $25 indoors in civic spaces, for the most part.

edit to add, a few minutes later: I want to mention that ten of the acts are people I’ve worked with before including those like Mary Gauthier who played last fall and another four are people I’ve never met but their reputation precedes them or they came highly recommended. Just three hours ago I charged my phone for 10 minutes and then went into an ally in SF, near the ball park, and let a group of homeless people or seemingly down and out people audition on ukelele and voice.

edit to add: Terry Acebo Davis added typography to Evri Kwong’s artwork for my April 24 show so I’m going to spend my spare hours walking Palo Alto’s commercial districts and strips putting the posters on display, these next 12 days:

August and Everything Up To It

Actually I bought five Mountain Winery shows if you include Jake Shimbakuru performing with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Molly Tuttle appearing with Old Crow Medicine Show

AUGUST AND EVERYTHING BEFORE

Kudos to Mountain Winery and Golden Voice for their Mountain Winery season, which was announced in a full page ad in today’s Mercury.

I bought tickets for Counting Crows, Michael Franti, Jake Shimbakuro and Trombone Shorty, in that order.

I think its a little pricey.

And meanwhile I am anticipating about 30 shows in Palo Alto between April 18 and when the weather turns, which is mid-October (last year’s outdoor ad hoc series ended a song early when Mary Gauthier announced that the wind was too much, at Mitch Bowl; we are bringing Mary back to Lytton Plaza, Monday June 20, direct from her hit at Kate Wolf Festival.

Thirty shows is basically once a week although they come in clumps. For instance, both Charlie Hunter DeShawn Hickman (June) and Gaye Adegbalola (May) are doing consecutive nights for Earthwise.

I’ve been cranking Counting Crows “Hanging Around” which is notable since my cousin Craig Ruda does backing vocals and handclaps on the recording. More to the point, when I talk to strangers I list Adam Duritz and Counting Crows as most emblematic of the world I came from, entering the music scene.

Everybody trip.
