update: the following shows are cancelled, by decree of County health: CJ Chenier,
Earthwise Productions completed it’s 2019 season by selling more than 1,000 tickets to its concert series at Mitchell Park Community Center El Palo Alto Room also known as The Mitch. The goal for 2020, according to Earthwise founder and Plastic Alto editor Mark Weiss — who actually hates talking about himself in the 3rd person — would be to double that, do 2,000 tickets.
So far this year has been Patricia Barber, Marta Sanchez and Johnny A. The headline lists acts from the current 10 onsales.
Weiss also has a handful of other offers out there. Not to tip his hand, but also posted something on Palo Alto Weekly website – he calls PAW — about a Lew Welch tribute cum hamburger cookout called Beat The Meat.
‘Wich reminds me: I met a dude at Pollstar from EventBrite and he gave me his card and said he can fix my account so that people merely thinking happy thoughts will be referred to my onsales (compared to just now when I type in my city and get brunches with sorrority sisters and sundry not hips thingies)

Joe Russo Almost Dead at Stanford Frost Amphitheater August 15,
I stopped Rick Mueller of golden voice AEG at the polestar right before the awards banquet congratulate him on the fact that the magazine listed Frost amphitheater as one of five best new venues for its awards ceremony I said I voted for them for number one.
But I also gave them a little shit and in fact 20 years of several people that it was listed as “Palo Alto” and not Stanford.
If it was part of the city here we would likely be getting some tax sales revenues I think at least from the liquor.
Golden voice does not do shows in Palo Alto although we try to get David Lefkowitz to lean in and tour the varsity when it was in play. I sold a 1,0000 tickets last year at Mitchell Park community Center and therefore in bigger in Palo alto than golden voice is. (Not to get cocky: golden voice sold at least 100,000 tickets including for Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson in the same week although I felt Lionel Richie was the best show in that he really tried to connect.)
My best show in terms of attendance Molly Tuttle she’s going on the sign new management with Vector ( Emmylou Harris and more, much more) played for a Grateful Dead festival in Mexico and I was also going to be in jazz fest second weekend next year. She has a couple dead covers in her set, But also yeah yeah yeah.
this puts it in perspective:
Small Venue Talent Buyer of the Year (Under 10K Capacity)
Stacie George, Live Nation
My goal is to get up to 10,000 people for the year .

Whereas today’s times says for 10 seasons one New York team or another won every World Series but one
I never met Mia Zapata, nor heard the Gits, but the response of the SF music community to her death was an influence on my decision to start Earthwise Productions.
My first show at Cubberley was a showcase for The Mudwimin, in October, 1994.
Mia’s murder was solved as a DNA cold case in 2004.
Today I bought a magazine to read story on Mia Zapata.
Sunday July 5 might be the right time to produce some sort of tribute event — 27 years since the death of the 27 year old musician.
Mia and her band went to Antioch College of Ohio. . John Parker went to Deer Valley High School in Antioch, CA.
Mia’s murder was a catalyst in my decision to work as an activist or in the arts.

Hail to the Chiefs — although there’s a lot of Cherokee and Navajo g’s that want to pop an arrowhead cap in their collective ass.
note: i thought I posted this as a comment verbatim to the yahoo article about whether the refs screwed the Niners, but I cannot find the post.
1. Chiefs probaby deserved the win;
2. Touchdown should go back to more than breaking the plane.
3. Plains Indians are from the Midwest;
4. Native Americans protest NFL use of mascots that reference their ethnicity: Redskins, Chiefs.
5. “pop a cap in his ass” is pop reference, I think from “Pulp Fiction”. Arrowhead is the name of Chiefs’ stadium and an actual tool made by indigenous people. How did the Dallas Texans become the Chiefs anyhow? I am guessing that a part of KC was “arrow head” before that???
6. I have a cousin in KC, and he owned a bagel stop — New York Deli.
edit to add, minutes alter: I sussed around to learn that Lamar Hunt pulled the whole Chiefs and Arrowhead thing out of his ass. The KC library had an article on this.
Mark Weiss, thanks for asking your question: “I would change the name to Honoosoo Stadium which is Arapaho for either “It is fancy” or “It is raining” depending on your prosody”
If we’re able to investigate it further, we’ll email you at earwopa@yahoo.com.
Feel free to encourage your friends to ask questions, too!
