   I haven’t actually written my Brueker-Wilen-Termos-Herman post yet so it is a bit odd that I am footnoting it with a link to Wedge’s excellent ode to the recently deceased Dutch sax master:

   I recall a bumpersticker (in Feyna de Clerq’s kitchen) that read:

   Clifford Brown yesterday on KCSM played a new release of an old radio show for Art Blakey featuring Bobby Watson and others. I am confused about whether he said “Danish radio” in which case I was going to addend this to my post about Anne-Mette Iverson or here, if he said, correctly, “Dutch radio”. It is true, and I can verify from at least two reliable sources, Paula Kirkeby and Danny Scher –and from the man himself, that Tootie Heath — speaks excellent Dansk, not to digress too far, 400 miles (I looked it up and leading searchinjun maps and it is indeed 792 km):

   And this is pretty far afield (except that this is actually about my “1001 Saxophone Nights” research) but Nola Restaurant in Palo Alto among its folk art collection (Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Lamar Sorrento) has something honoring Jimmy Castor a sax player that I had to look up, here):
