Tickets are only $5. One hundred percent of the door will be donated to Bread and Roses the Bay Area charity that works to help musicians with medical care.
Friends of Lisa Fay Beatty, the musician and sound tech who died 10 years ago this month are invited to sing a song from the stage, tell a story about their friend, play an instrument or read a poem.
Lisa and Mudwimin played Earthwise’s first Palo Alto show in October, 1994. Lisa and Aisha workshopped new songs for the Earthwise@15 at BOTH in 2009. Lisa Fay Beatty and Earthwise Productions founder Mark Weiss were incubating a performance piece or production based on Lisa’s friendship with Nina Simone who she met in Portland in 2004 —they went sailing together 4th of July after the soul legends show, for Thrasher Productions, which Lisa worked on. Jerry Jemmott played bass with Nina (and Aretha and King Curtis), never met Lisa Fay Beatty but met Mark Weiss five weeks ago via Diunna Greenleaf.
“Save Me, Yeah” is the working title of a show about female artists and mentorship.
Jerry Jemmott and The Incarnation Blues Band with Jim Pugh(keys) Nancy Wright (sax)and Paul Revelli (drums); with Aisha Ayers, Veronica DeJesus, Josh Thurston Milgrom, Roberta Donnay; just added: Steve and Eric Cohen, who I’ve known since 1975 and have appeared in various mutations together three previous Earthwise shows, as Hunter S. Thompson Twins, & Eden Ariel.

The show is advertised as 100 percent door goes to Bread & Roses but I also pledged an amount and made a first payment that is pegged to the number of performers and or songs. Still room for you to read this, get to show, and get on stage, for Lisa Fay Beatty aka Lisa Faye Beatty.
and1: This is a meta-section. I’m a numbers guy. I have 12 musicians or what I call players. The event starts in 16 hours. There are 100 views on this page and another 60 on my EventBrite page. Only two advanced tickets — relatives of Veronica DeJesus — but there may be more people purchasing at the Bottom of The Hill page. This show will rock.
[note: the music was performed for roughly 40 people, coming and going, including BOTH staff; we pledged $1,600 to Bread & Roses, a number based on the number of numbers performed.
