I think the BLACK LIVES MATTER mural in front of City Hall 250 Hamilton is a high water mark for culture here in the last 25 or 30 years. Kudos to the makers, staff, volunteers and leaders. In that order.
I read it like a codex: not sure what it means, it will reveal itself over time, to me, to you, to each his her or their own.
I say, as 1 in 10,000 voters here, we keep the cars off it for a few more weeks. And the tenants of 267 Hamilton can park elsewhere for a while.
I agree! What a fantastic way to combine activism and art, bringing our community together in advocating for positive change. Thank you for this post, especially for your great photography! Let’s do these projects all the time.
Best,
Rebecca
Is this the same black lives matter mural that you are accusing an artist of using anti Semitic symbolism of a diamond? Very curious about how you gathered that?
Ed- actually, though I don’t say that in this post, I asked the artist if it is meant to say “ACAB” and he says no, so its a N and an O.
He also says he’s 1/4 Jewish.
Thanks for deleting my comment. I find it interesting that you boast about saving the mural, but you email one of the artists accusing them of symbolism that isn’t true. Also- the power of screen shots is a beautiful thing. Thanks for showing your true colors.
Ed-
Today I am wearing red white and black 25 for Richard Sherman, blues jeans, made by Jewss, and a gray cap that says H, O but does not mean “ho” and “W” that does not mean “white” and “L” that doesn’t mean “loser” but it is true that somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me I’m not the sharpest Sharpie signing other peep’s fish. Flesh. Flit. flirt.
You fuckin Hipocrite. You email me with your hate, yet you put up posts like this on your website. You are a real asshole.
Or as someone sang: some days you are the windshield some days you are the bug. De bug. Which reminds me that the Metro had something about a district attorney being a “Karen” tho his name is Jeff Rosen and I thought it said “Da Karen” which could be Hawaiian.
Kind of a weird place to state this but the logistics manager of Wealthfront came found me at the murals and convinced me that they are stakeholders and not indifferent.
