JOHN SANTOS 5 VS GERHARD RICHTER THE DEYOUNG STRONTIUM 38
He’s also leading groups at Filoli in August and Yoshi’s later in September. They are both nicer places to see music that The Mitch, admittedly. But pound for pound and dollar for dollar, especially if you can walk or bike to the show, the series at Mitchell Park Community Center El Palo Alto Room is a great value and opportunity to see world class performances.
I wanted to throw in there this photo of Santos and Flores at Campbell Recital Hall – the acoustic treatment of the walls calls to mind the pattern of the Richter at DeYoung — which by the way has been removed:

DAYNA VS NANCY SAX SHOWDOWN
this does not necessarily go here but I am looking forward to the Dayna Stephens show at Stanford Jazz Workshop tonite. I met Dayna at Stanford Jazz workshop a couple summers ago. Meanwhile a few miles away veteran blues stalwart is celebrating the release of her new cd at the blues jam at Little Fox Theatre in Redwood City. I caught up to her at KZSU two weeks ago when she preceded Bob Margolin as a guest on the Byrd Hale blues show. Bob and Nancy are both on the same lable, Vizztone. Stanford also has a 2-night techno disco EDM show starting allegedly at 6 — maybe I can stand outside — what I call “Round Midnight”, after the movie — before moving on to Dayna.
There’s also an Andre Thierry show free in the parks of Redwood City and a singer songwriter show at Vino Locale.
