Step into the light, Mildred

Mildred Howard

I shot this picture of Mildred Howard at her Palo Alto installation on August 17, 2011. I could not help doing the Archers of Loaf lyric in the title of this brief post. No other connection, other than I once drove from Chapel Hill to Richmond, VA to see the Archers at Twisters AND oh, nevermind.

edi to add, October 11: I booked Marcus Shelby duo into the reception for Mildred Howard at Palo Alto City Hall lobby and snapped this photo:

This morning while walking the dog I sang the lyric “Stuck a pin in your backbone” and Terry told me that in Portland there is a public art project that puts 35 foot accupuncture pins into the ground as a statement about healing and planning.

And I was thinking about going to Portland to see the show by Archers of Loaf, whose song “Web in front” i am referencing, I missed here in SF. I also wrote for Patch about “web in front” and stanford football.
